In partnership with the National Aboriginal Trust Officers Association (NATOA), the Reconciliation and Responsible Investment Institute (RRII) hosts Indigenous Investors Day, an annual event where Indigenous investors gather to learn and discuss topics related to investment governance, fiduciary duty, and responsible investment.

Suzanne Trottier, CFA, MBA, ICD.D, President, FNB Trust, discussed the key principles of good governance, provided an overview of fiduciary duty, and outlined the elements of an Investment Policy Statement.
Resource #2: Emerging Investment Themes and Trends
Scott Lunney, Principal at George & Bell Consulting, discussed understanding and assessing risks in today’s market, arriving at the right asset mix, and monitoring investments.
Resource #3: Responsible Investment Overview
Zaee Deshpande, Senior Program Officer, Investor Leadership at SHARE, explored responsible investment approaches, key considerations for governing boards, and investment manager oversight and evaluation.
Resource #4: Climate Change: Implications for Investors
Michael Veniez, Senior Research Officer, Education & Advisory Services at SHARE, delivered Climate Science 101, and provided an overview of climate-related risks and opportunities, and investor climate action.

This session from the 2025 SHARE Summit explored how recent U.S. innovations in setting collective responsible investment standards for LPs and General Partners (GPs) can help alter the balance of power between asset owners and managers in private markets.
